李志刚，男，汉族，1976年10月出生，湖北省天门市人。现任武汉大学城市设计学院院长、教授、博导、教授委员会主席。兼任中国城市规划学会常务理事、国外城市规划分会副主任；中国地理学会城市地理专业委员会副主任；住建部科学技术委员会社区建设专业委员会委员等。

长期从事城市地理学、空间规划、城乡治理和社区规划等的理论研究与实践工作。主持国家自然科学基金“优秀青年基金”、 国家社科基金重大项目，入选教育部“新世纪”人才，自然资源部高层次创新科技人才等，曾获“首届中国城市规划青年科技奖”、“第十一届青年地理科技奖”等, 多次入选“Elsevier中国高被引学者”、“斯坦福全球前2%科学家”等。2025年3月入选英国社会科学院院士。

Professor Zhigang LI is the dean, doctoral supervisor, and chairman of the Professor Committee of the School of Urban Design at Wuhan University. He also serves as an executive director of the Urban Planning Society of China, deputy director of the Academic Committee of Foreign Urban Planning; deputy director of the Urban Geography Professional Committee of the Geographical Society of China; and member of the Community Construction Professional Committee of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, among other roles.

He has long been engaged in theoretical research and practical work in urban geography, spatial planning, urban-rural governance and community planning. He has presided over the "Outstanding Young Scientist Fund" of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and major projects of the National Social Science Foundation. He has been selected as a "New Century Talent” by the Ministry of Education and a Leading Talent of the Ministry of Natural Resources. He has won the "First China Urban Planning Young Science and Technology Award", the "11th Young Geography Science and Technology Award", etc., and has been selected as an "Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher" and a "Stanford Top 2% Scientists in the World" many times. He was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in 2025.
