入选国家重大人才工程青年学者，国家社科基金重大项目首席专家。博士毕业于英国伦敦政治经济学院，曾在格拉斯哥大学等境外高校工作，获终身副教授，兼任英国ESRC城市大数据中心联合创始人、中国区域科学协会理事、国际中国规划协会Global Board of Directors、中国房地产中青年学者30人论坛成员等。

主要研究方向为区域经济与规划、城市研究。在《地理学报》、《Journal of Economic Geography》、《Landscape and urban planning》等国内外城市地理、城市研究、城市规划领域发表文章70多篇（JCR Top1区第一/通讯作者48篇），出版书籍2部，担任《Landscape and urban planning》《Transportation Research Part D》等国际知名期刊(中科院一区、ESI 3%热点期刊)专刊的客座主编。主持国家社科基金重大项目1项、主持国家自然科学基金项目5项，主持和参与省部级科研项目多项。获得包括“国际社会科学协会会士奖”等国内外奖项。研究成果被光明日报、人民网、中国经济网等媒体报道和转载。

Wenjie Wu is a Professor at the School of Urban Design, Wuhan University, with a cross-appointment to the School of Economics and Management. He has worked as the Chair PI of the large and key project granted by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences(NOPSS), and as the PI of multiple projects granted by the National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He has formerly worked in the UK universities such as the University of Glasgow. He did PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His research interest includes urban development and social infrastructure, with a focus of using empirical methods to inform policy. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Economic Geography, Landscape and Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Journal of Regional Science and among others. Wenjie has served as the guest editor for journals of Landscape and Urban Planning, Transportation Research Part D, Urban Forestry&Urban Greening and among others. Apart from his academic works, he has spent time as a consultant expert for the World Bank and other agencies. Wenjie has been selected as the Global Board of Directors of the International Association for China Planning, and as the board member in the Chinese Regional Science Association.
